What Are You Doing to Managing YOUR Stress?

Stress for me is worrying if I will earn enough money to cover all the monthly expenses associated with my business, still in the start-up phase. Sometimes feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and second guessing myself wondering if launching out on my own is the right choice for me. All while juggling my professional and personal life, sometimes with very little sleep. Then there is the media.

I do not know about you, but I am sick and tired of the constant barrage of information and negative misinformation, fed to us daily from several media outlets – toxic overload. This is not to bash or to speak ill of, but every once in a while, I have a strong urge to purge – I turn everything off and shut everything down.  We are living in stressful times; with unemployment issues, crime, political divide & unrest, and a mass of other difficult issues we deal with.

More so now than ever, having a variety of ways to destress is key. Be it exercise, a walk in the park, reading a good book, hydrate, proper rest, recreation, family time, finding a hobby, getting a facial or a therapeutic massage. It does not matter what you do – DO SOMETHING!

Stress can negatively affect the biological system, the immune system, the cardiovascular system, the neurological system and the digestive system. If left unchecked, it could lead to physical, mental, emotional and psychological issues, including high blood pressure, ulcer, sleep disorder, depression, anxiety,  mood swings, chest pain, brain fog, fatigue and the list goes on and on….

Reasons why you should consider adding massage therapy  to your wellness routine:

  • To relax and manage stress
  • To speed up recovery from physical injuries
  • To improve circulation
  • To increase joint mobility and flexibility
  • To manage lower back pain
  • To manage chronic pain and discomfort
  • To improve restful sleeping
  • To reduce tension and tired overused muscles

Therapeutic massage, acupuncture, reiki, cranial sacral, alexander technique or yoga. Incorporating any of these modalities will help to manage or eliminate STRESS.
